RELATIONSHIP
by Jane Murphy
If you like the high road And I like the low, If you like a fast pace, And my gait is slow, We could argue over choice of path And who’s not being fair, Or walk the distance separately And meet each other there. If you like the left side And I like the right, If you like the shade down, And I like the light, We could focus on our differences And make of them a fight, Or let the two halves be a whole, And have a pleasant flight. We have rapport, so We can adapt. That matters more, so We’re not handicapped. We’re not competing To find out who wins. We’re partners meeting, Not Siamese twins. So if I sing in low tones, And your voice is high, We’re both used to solos, But still we can try To sing without estrangement. I’m sure we’ll do it yet. We’ll find a good arrangement, And we’ll share a sweet duet.
Well said, Jane. Thanks 😃
