The Sun’s encouragement of stability and patient growth now meets the challenge of Pluto’s extraordinary revelations and transformations. Some big changes are necessary, and it probably won’t be easy. We may find that some structures from which we’ve expected stability are either unreliable or unavailable. Adaptation to altered conditions calls for resourcefulness and ingenuity, but which ideas should we implement? Personal choices and actions matter. Because the new ideas out there range from wise and life-promoting to absurd and suicidal, we’d better know what we’re doing. We violate Nature’s laws at our peril.

With Mars still racing through the Piscean mist, we continue to pursue our agendas while avoiding an open fight, and in these last few days of April, Mars plunges through an even thicker patch of fog. We have about a week of confusion and hesitation while we figure out the implications of recent events and revelations. This warrior part of us is relatively blind, acting on faith and feeling. Inner visions are powerful now. Effectiveness of our efforts depends on whether they’re inspired by truth or delusion.

Today the cosmic warrior comes out of the fog and into the open. Confusion is behind us, and we’re much clearer about what we want to do. Aries is far from passive, so our inner warrior is through with avoidance, passive aggression, and hesitation. From now through the first week of June, we’re willing to risk actions that are spontaneous, open, direct, and bold.

Mars can draw extra strength now from powerful Pluto, which offers much more awareness of what is going on. Our instinctive motivations tend to be more focused and direct than usual, so that we can more easily avoid waste and apply our energy where it’s most needed. The more we align our efforts with the truth, the stronger we are.

Enough new revelations for a while. Pluto now pauses and begins its annual apparent motion backwards, over some territory already covered.
As Pluto retraces its path back into Capricorn, our inner detectives will be reviewing facts that have come to light since the beginning of the year. What did we overlook or misunderstand the first time? What still needs the transformational touch? Pluto is thorough, so any important gaps are sure to be found, to be addressed for good after Pluto turns direct in mid-October.

This aspect is an inspirational treat! Happy, optimistic Jupiter in Earthy Taurus in this soft aspect with dreamy, numinous Neptune in Watery Pisces makes it easy to imagine and believe in “heaven on earth”. This is a time when we tend to believe we can make our dreams come true, and if we try, we can probably come pretty close to that. It’s a wonderful time for education, spirituality, and any of the arts.

Since the Sun is conjunct Jupiter, both are sextile Neptune now (see the two paragraphs above). The Sun reinforces the joy in that combination and adds a gratifying sense of personal participation in the happy vision.
